If you love figs you've got to love this recipe. We use a secret ingredient (a dash of vanilla) but you don't need it to make this vinaigrette taste good.
Ingredients:
3 tbs MarXana Brand Foods Mission Fig Pomegranate Port Sauce
1 tbs balsamic vinegar
1/3 tsp lemon juice, fresh squeezed
1/8 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp Dijon mustard
1 tbs extra virgin olive oil
1. Place all ingredients in a mixing bowl or blender except the extra virgin olive oil. If using a blender turn on an off quickly to blend. If in a bowl whisk the ingredients until blended. If using immediately add the extra virgin olive oil and whisk a few times to blend otherwise refrigerate the ingredients and add the extra virgin olive oil just before using.
2. This is a delicious blend for salads especially with sliced fresh figs or dried figs cut into small pieces. Great with mixed greens, tomato, scallion, feta cheese, and toasted pine nuts or walnuts.

Cooking Tips:
***This can be used as a marinade for chicken, duck, and pork. If using with whole chicken, duck or other game bird you can stuff the mixture with fig pieces under the breast skin and roast. Use the remaining liquid to baste during cooking.
